Refresh Renovations Proudly Supporting Local Charity

Sharon Giblett, Franchise Manager from Refresh Renovations based in Tauranga, is proud to be supporting the 2022 ‘Fish n Chicks’ Tournament being held on the 11th and 12th February - an annual event hosted by the Tauranga Sport Fishing Club.
This is a fun and competitive event for women of all ages from 12 years and up, and all ability levels from amateur to experienced anglers. This Ladies Tournament has been running now for 22 years and is a great way for ladies to step away from their day-to-day life and enjoy a weekend of fishing and fun, including a party on Saturday night!
This year’s event will be attended by approximately 200 women and involve over 60 boats.
There is a fantastic range of prizes, over $70,000 worth, up for grabs including goodie bags, spot prizes, silent auctions, raffles, prizes for fancy dress, as well as awards for fish caught.
The Tournament also has a charity focus each year for a local volunteer run charity, with proceeds from this year’s tournament being donated to Tauranga’s Homes of Hope, who provide foster care homes in a group setting for children from the Bay of Plenty. They provide homes where children can stay together as a family unit for as long as they need, without being moved around from place to place, while in away from home care. The children receive consistent care and therapeutic support on their road to recovery to see them flourish. These babies and children often come with just the clothes on their backs. They are an amazing organisation of volunteers who work tirelessly 24/7 for all 52 weeks of the year.
In previous years the tournament has raised money for Breast Cancer Awareness and Tauranga Womens’ Refuge. We are really excited to be involved with this event, it will be a lot of fun, a great opportunity to promote Refresh Renovations and fantastic to also give a little back to our local community in this way. Let’s hope those fish are biting!
