A modern home makeover in Wellington

As this was a large project requiring over fifteen tradespeople, the knowledge and skills of an experienced project manager were essential. Steve managed the project from start to finish, scheduling in his trusted team of specialists and trades to carry out each stage. 

Interior home design

Steve’s clients wanted to completely modernise the home’s interior, largely focusing on the kitchen and bathrooms. They also wanted new flooring, stairs and painting work. In the design stage of the project, Steve worked with them to create a plan which could be feasibly achieved within their set budget. In some areas, this meant removing a few “nice to have” items and zoning in on a few priorities. However, there was still plenty of room for a few luxurious features.
“The clients selected some nice fittings for their home”, tells Steve. “A fully tiled bathrooms, a bubble massage bath, a glass balustrade for the stairs, a new radiator and central heating.”

To improve the flow of the home’s main living area, Steve’s team removed an internal wall which opened up the space. Timber flooring was installed throughout the home, excluding in the bathrooms; which were tastefully retiled. As the centre of the home, the kitchen is now a sturdy and grand space in which to host social gatherings. It features a carefully considered colour scheme, engineered stone benchtops and high-end appliances. 

Final thoughts

Now that the project has been completed, Steve puts the high-quality result down to smooth project management and great teamwork. He emphasises that his clients chose some standout features, including the bathroom’s granite vanities and the high-gloss kitchen.
“This is our best project so far”, tells Steve. “Not only in size but in the finishes.”
