Will I need council consent to renovate my bathroom?

Minor renovation work which won’t require any structural changes or additions to your home are generally fine to carry out without council approval - although it’s always best to check with your renovation specialist first. Structural work and changes to electrical work, gas, drainage and plumbing is likely to require council consent. Your renovation specialist will advise you on whether or not this applies to your project, and will take care of the planning and consent application process - should your bathroom renovation require it. If you are hoping to renovate your apartment’s bathroom, you will likely need the permission of your body corporate to do so. 

What are some current trends in bathroom design?
